It’s why you will always see the original still intact while the remasters are separated when viewing discographies. That is the case because remastered tracks are typically rerecorded and a bit different from the original so many people often end up preferring the original audio release. When music gets remastered in any way years after release, the intention is always to provide a separate version of an album/track (the remaster) that isn’t meant to replace what is widely considered the original but rather modernize or update it. That is not at all a good comparison to make.
